Comparison of pulse rate variability and heart rate variability

26 Oct 2020

Heart Rate Variability of the ECG, rather than Pulse Wave Variability, allows for better measurement and subsequent control of the parasympathetic component. This study shows the weak relationship (r=0.5) between the two ways of measuring, highlighting that overestimation can occur when using the pulse wave as opposed to ECG.
